Day 87 Learn To Laugh

As social creatures we fear judgement from others, but unfortunately it is all around us causing our insecurities to develop. These fears and insecurities make it easier to get into the habit of taking ourselves and the world around us very serious. But when we do this, we forget to have fun and enjoy our lives. But life is fleeting and we must enjoy our time on this earth as much as we can with as much happiness as possible.

It is important that we stay true to ourselves and remember who we are. We are unique miracles. To face facts, we all have quirky things that we do, its just who we are. Some people may love their quirks and others may not. But it is these quirks that make us unique from each other. When we learn to laugh at ourselves, we are accepting who we are, which is much kinder than holding ourselves back.

One of my quirks is that I am clumsy. As much as I try not to be – and trust me I have tried – it is just who I am. Growing up, I struggled with my clumsiness. Always falling over, dropping everything I pick up, breaking things was and still is a regular occurrence. I broke my arm from falling down the stairs and I had split my head falling off a chair. As I got older, I learnt to deal with it, often just laughing at myself but sometimes quite the opposite, but overall I deal with it. I have been at the end of much judgement because of my clumsiness, I have experienced many eye rolls, “here we go”‘s, moaning and growning from other people. But the way I see it, if it annoys you, how do you think I feel, and on top of that I have to listen to you moan about it. But like I said I have learnt to laugh it off mostly.

I think it is important to understand our quirky sides and just enjoy them. At the end of the day, they are part of who you are and if people don’t like it, well point them to the door. This is who you are. Love who you are, even the annoying quirky parts.

Have a nice day!
